Understanding before improving

Many optimisations fail because they start too early. Testing is done before it is clear exactly what the problem is, or conclusions are drawn based on assumptions and experience. We reverse that process.

First, we make sense of what is actually happening. Where do visitors get stuck? Where do doubts arise? Which steps feel logical and which ones don't? Only when that is clear will we determine which improvements make sense to test or implement. Ondersearch is therefore not a separate phase, but the basis onder everything that follows.
