This module will give you a solid foundation to follow the rest of the training:

  • Classic search engines - how crawling, indexing and algorithms create the search results you see in Google.
  • Large Language Models (LLMs) - how AI models such as ChatGPT and Perplexity work, and where they differ fundamentally from search engines.
  • The impact on SEO - why change is the only constant and what this means for your role as a SEO specialist.

After this module, you will understand the basics of both search engines and AI so that you can apply the next steps in technical SEO and AI smartly.

2. Technical SEO

You will learn how search engines crawl and index your website, and what signals and instructions you can provide in the process.

  • Crawlers and indexing - how Google discovers pages, what role status codes (200, 404, 301/302) play and why internal links and XML sitemaps are important.
  • Robots.txt and meta-robots - how to determine which pages should and should not be indexed, and which mistakes to absolutely avoid.
