SEO tips for beginners:

  1. Install Search Console
    Data is and will always be important. Even with an eye to the future of your function or company, it is smart to make substantiated choices. Especially when it comes to search engine optimization, it is important to drive your own data.
  2. Create redirects
    Within Google Search Console, you can see which pages get a status code 404. You can easily fix these by creating a 301 redirect. This not only redirects the user to the correct page, but also lets Google know what, after the old URL is gone, is the correct new URL page.
  3. See what you are found on
    In Google Search Console, you can see what you are being found on, indeed, you can see what page is being shown for this keyword. Use this to make your content even more relevant and show the right pages for the desired search term.
  4. Check your meta data
    "Home | yourwebsite.co.uk", of course we don't want to see this anymore. We want to see your important search terms reflected in the meta title and meta description, and we are not the only who want this... Google wants this too, this way it knows what the page is about and can therefore offer this page for relevant and related search terms. Google provides more relevant information, and you get more traffic to your website. That's a win-win situation.
