Solarfields is a young company with ambition: to supply 1 million households with renewable electricity. By 2030. To this end, they are realising solar parks on land, roofs and water. To boost such an ambition, they naturally want to be well found on 'solar farm'. But it doesn't stop there. The experience on the website should also reflect Solarfields's optimism and expertise. And so Solarfields brings 3 parties together to work on branding, technology and search engine optimisation.
We start with a search analysis and discuss with Esther and David of Solarfields which search terms are important to them. Of course, we select all search terms related to solar parks, but also, for example, 'sde subsidy', an important step prior to the realisation of solar parks and solar roofs.
We often focus on search terms that have quite a bit of volume. For Solarfields, this is different. The target group is very specific and a complete project takes a lot of time. As a result, some terms are rarely searched for. But that one searcher a month is very specifically looking for a solution that Solarfields can offer. And that is why it pays to also pay attention to the search terms with low search volume.
Based on the search terms, we created a completely new url structure covering all onderwerpen. The most important search terms have been elaborated on cornerstone pages and on the subpages we go deeper into onderwerpen. Solarfields projects are also given a logical onder breakdown. To achieve all this, we work closely with both the web builder and the branding agency.
Together, we achieve the best result. WordPress web builder Nordique plunges into the technology of the website, making sure there are no obstacles for the Googlebot (and other bots) to crawl the site properly. They also make sure we can create pages in the new url structure. And if we discover another issue, we can pick it up via a shared Trello board.
Based on their expertise, Solarfields provides the content of the pages. Dizain then carries out an editing exercise and gives the texts a tone of voice that suits Solarfields. Finally, we at Onder do another check on SEO. We keep track of all this in a giant, overarching sheet so that everyone knows from each other how far we are. Onder meanwhile, Dizain has commissioned a complete new line of images. When just before going live the new images are posted, everything comes together and the result is fantastic.
