Redirection is a handy WordPress plugin that helps you manage user experience and website navigation. It does this by setting custom rules for when someone tries to go to a part of your website that you don't want them to see. Examples include an outdated blog post or a page with sensitive information (such as your password or email). The Redirection plugin lets you redirect users from one URL to another. Moreover, you can customise redirection rules and even create different redirection chains. This depends on different needs. We explain to you what the Redirection plugin in WordPress is and how you can use it to create more pleasant user experiences.
The Redirection plugin in WordPress is a way to redirect visitors to different pages or sections of your site. This can be very useful if you have a website with content that might be broken or outdated. If a visitor lands on one of these pages, he may get a 404 error message. This is not desirable for the visitor. With the Redirection plugin, you can redirect them to another page that is still relevant to what they were looking for. Even if you have a brand new website, the redirection plugin can be useful in a few different ways. First, you can use it to create custom 404 pages. People landing on broken links or pages that don't exist can now be redirected to something useful, such as a page with advice on how to navigate your site. Secondly, you can use it to redirect users to another URL if they try to go to a page you don't want them to see.
The Redirection plugin in WordPress gives you a lot of control over how you redirect users to different pages. To start using the Redirection plugin, you first need to install it from your WordPress dashboard. Once installed, you can go to the plugin's "Redirection" tab to start setting up your rules. To set up a rule, first select the page you want to redirect from the "From" drop-down menu and the page you want to redirect to from the "To" drop-down menu. You can also click the "Advanced" link to set a more complex rule. When setting redirection rules, you can also set an optional "end condition" that activates another rule. This means that if a person goes to one page, he will be redirected to another page, and so on until he reaches the page you want to see.
The Redirection plugin in WordPress can do a lot, and if you really want to take advantage of it, you need to understand how to set up more complex rules. You can activate a rule that redirects users to another page when they land on a specific URL by checking the "On selected pages" box and setting the conditions in the drop-down menu. If you want to redirect users when they perform a specific action, such as filling in a contact form or clicking on a link, you can check the "On selected actions" box and set the conditions in the drop-down menu. You can also create a rule that redirects people who land on a specific page to another page and then redirects that page to another page and so on, creating a loop. To do this, tick the "On selected pages" box, select the "First rule" drop-down menu and set the first rule. Then set the "Second line" drop-down menu to "End line".

Whether it's about content or technical adjustments, it doesn't matter. Martijn briefs this in a very clear way so that it can be implemented locally or by our head office in France. [...] Since the start of our collaboration, we have achieved great results. Keep it up!
When your online onder venture grows, expectations often grow too, in every area. To a large extent, we were in control of SEO and its interpretation ourselves. We found out that our own "general view" was no longer sufficient, so we engaged Bureau Onder. Surprising and clear. We have built up a fine collaboration, partly because Martijn also regularly visits our office with Eline or Mariska (depending on the case), which is very valuable to us!
Martijn and Mariska make the SEO story understandable for the layman and are happy to think along with us. It is nice that there is a personal contact moment every month with an extensive report and the opportunity to talk everything through. After just a few months, Onder has already managed to achieve number 1 positions on Google with some of our webshop pages. We are very satisfied with Onder.
For several years, Onder has been a valued partner of Stella. Martijn is my sparring partner for complex SEO issues and the extra pair of critical eyes that keeps us on our toes. Together, we have achieved nice growth in online visibility, visitor numbers and leads. Onder onder stands out for its short lines of communication and professionalism. They speak our language: don't nag, get down to business. That is what we love!
